DEVIN HANEY is "furious" after Ryan Garcia reportedly tested positive for a banned substance in the aftermath of their bout and wants his loss overturned.
It comes after the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) allegedly found Garcia had tested positive for the anabolic agent ostarine.
ESPN say they have obtained VADA testing documents that show Garcia had tested positive for ostarine in a urine sample prior to the fight.
Those results have only just come to light, however.
Garcia came into the fight three pounds over the weight limit but the fight still went ahead as scheduled in New York last month.
Garcia would go on to achieve a shock win over Haney, dropping him three times on his way to a decision victory.
Now Haney's promoter, Eddie Hearn has broken his silence on the apparent positive result and revealed Haney would like the result overturned to a no contest.
Hearn said: "I spoke to Devin last night, he's absolutely furious. The guy came in 3lbs overweight and had PEDs in his system.
"He will want an immediate no-contest.
"Regardless of Ryan's innocence or guilt, he had PEDs in his system when he fought Devin and came in 3lbs overweight.

Garcia maintains his innocence and posted: "Everyone knows I don't cheat," on X before saying: "Never taken a steroid. … I don't even know where to get steroids. … I barely take supplements. Big lies, I beat his a**."
He now has 10 days to request a B sample to be tested.
His A sample also tested positive for another PED called 19-norandrosterone, but its presence remains unconfirmed until further lab analysis.
Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, who Garcia is signed to, said in a statement that they are working with Garcia to "determine how this finding came to be."
They followed that up by saying: "Ryan has put out multiple statements denying knowingly using any banned substances — and we believe him."
Haney released his own statement to ESPN saying: "We learned about this situation not too long ago and it's unfortunate Ryan cheated and disrespected both the fans and the sport of boxing by fighting dirty and breaking positive not once, but twice.
"Ryan owes the fans an apology, and by his recent tweet he still thinks this is a joke. We put our lives on the line to entertain people for a living.
"You don't play boxing. This puts the fight in a completely different light. Despite the disadvantage, I still fought on my shield and got back up! People die in this sport. This isn't a joking matter."
