A physique has been found in the River Avon throughout a search for a canine walker who went lacking in 'extraordinary' weather circumstances greater than eight weeks in the past.
Keith, whose surname has not been given, left residence to walk his canine in Bristol's Blaise Woods at around 9.30am on December four.
The 78-year-old was reported missing when his dog returned from the stroll by itself that afternoon.
A pair of his walking poles have been later found by a picket bridge over the River Trym, a tributary of the Avon.
In depth searches have been carried out by cops, divers and drones; along with volunteers from different organisations, but no trace of him was discovered.
On December 22, Avon and Somerset Police announced they have been calling off the physical search for Keith.
A press release stated: 'The weather circumstances on the day he was final seen have been extraordinary, with the river in full flood, and if Keith did enter the water, it's possible he might have been swept into the River Avon, estuary and subsequently into the Bristol Channel.'
The pressure stated his disappearance remained an lively investigation, and officers would look into any new strains of inquiry.
This afternoon, the police account on X, formerly Twitter, confirmed a body had been discovered and stated formal identification has not yet taken place.

'Whereas formal identification is but to take place, the household of Keith have been updated.
