A man who climbed to the top of a famous statue had to be rescued by firefighters on a cherry picker.
The person was filmed clambering to the top of the Eros statue in Piccadilly Circus, London, on Wednesday night – before apparently deciding to easily scroll by means of his phone.
Police and firefighters raced to the scene and cordoned off the world – and the Tube station was also closed for more than an hour.
However the man didn't seem interested within the gathering crowds and emergency providers under him, as he continued to take a look at his cellular.
He was seen straddling one of many legs of the Eros statue to be able to maintain his stability.
Firefighters on a cherry picker spoke to the person they usually left the scene at around 8pm – two hours after he made the climb.
A fireplace brigade spokesperson stated: 'Firefighters have been referred to as at 6.12pm to studies of a person who had climbed a fountain in Piccadilly Circus.
'Two hearth engines have been despatched to the scene and one of many Brigade's 32 metre turntable ladders also attended.
'Crews liaised with Metropolitan Cops before leaving the incident in the care of the Met shortly after 8pm.'
